Van der Heide Oboe Workshop was founded in 1967, since when it has built up an excellent reputation amongst professional and amateur oboists.

Fast service, with most products supplied from stock, plus perfect repairs and modifications are the pillars upon which the quality of Van der Heide Oboe Workshop is founded.

We offer you a full range of oboes: new, second-hand and for rent. Minor repairs can be completed while you wait. Examples include replacement of tenon corks and springs, loosening of stuck keys and alignment. We also offer a perfect anti-damp system for the octave keys.

Major repairs are completed within a week. These include major and minor services, complete overhauls and conversion from a semi-automatic to a fully automatic octave-key mechanism. Modifications involving metal plating take several weeks. Naturally, we can supply a loan instrument during this period. The accessories we supply are too numerous to list here. They include radius gauges, reed shapers in all sizes, crooks for cors anglais and oboes d’amore, cases, excellent gouging machines and reed-making tools, as well as hand-finished oboe and cor anglais reeds.

New oboes are always available from stock. We supply all the major brands from stock with a full guarantee on both wood and mechanism.We have in stock Buffet-Crampon(green line), Bulgheroni, Fossati, Howarth, Josef, Loree, Riec, Rigoutat, Yamaha. We regularly visit the factories to select instruments. Second-hand oboes are only sold after a complete overhaul, and are guaranteed. Availability varies, but we almost always have both conservatory and professional instruments in stock, in fully and semi-automatic variants.
